(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A South Florida man faces up to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to making threats against Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx as well as U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Federal prosecutors say Paul Vernon Hoeffer called the state’s attorney’s office seven times in March of 2019 and left threatening voicemails.

He swore and used the N-word and misogynistic language when he told Foxx to sleep with one eye open and that “bullets are going to rattle your [expletive] brain.”

The 60-year-old from Palm Beach Gardens made similar comments in voicemails to Pelosi and Ocasio-Cortez, the government said.

He’s slated for sentencing April 1.

Foxx said in a statement she’s grateful for the collaboration of federal authorities.
