FOREST PARK (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A new curfew to crack down on rowdy crowds in Forest Park aims to stop out of control crowds, but business owners say it is heavily impacting the bottom line.
“Loud noise, loud music, public urination, fighting..."
Forest Park Chief of Police Tom Aftanas said they’re enforcing an 11 p.m. curfew after issuing 75 citations in March and April.
Bars along Madison Street are where most of the problems have been occurring.
Bar owners told CBS 2 this is costing a lot of money, including Ted Hosty, owner of Old School Tavern and Grill.
“We do need to hit the reset button. Things have gotten crazy,” said Ted Hosty, owner of Old School Tavern and Grill.
Pioneer Tap Manager Brandon Wilkes added that the curfew “definitely hurt the bottom line, 100 percent."
The curfew, for now will be in place for at least 30 days.
