Travelers at Midway Airport will be treated to a small consolation today after a week of headaches due to the Southwest Airlines meltdown.
The good news is that nationwide, according to Flightaware, Southwest Airlines only has a few dozen canceled flights, as opposed to the more than 2,500 flights a day that had been scratched for most of this week. There have been a few Southwest flights that had been scheduled to depart Midway among those canceled.
Meanwhile, the city of Chicago says that for two hours today, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., free cups of coffee will be offered to travelers at Midway in the baggage claim area.
Travelers at Midway Airport have been run through the ringer this week, dealing with the aggravation of widespread cancelations of Southwest Airlines flights and confusion over luggage locations.
