(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago Public Schools welcomed a massive Mexican icon to the city of Chicago on Tuesday.

At Daley Plaza, it was a day of music, dancing, and celebrations for La Muñeca Lele.

Dressed head to toe in vibrant, traditional Mexican clothes and accessories, the 13-foot-tall artisan doll represents the traditions and customs of Querétaro, a state in Central Mexico.

CPS students Katherine and Valerie Lara were impressed.

"I like that she has so much colors, and she's big.”

Emily Ortega, a student at Instituto Health Sciences Career Academy, says the doll is "an inspiration."

"She's an icon of Mexican culture, and I'm really glad to have her here because it will represent us here in Chicago more.”

Lele will be on display across Chicago until May 13.
