CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Last weekend, the parents of missing Chicago mail carrier Kierra Coles met with members of the press to remind the community of a $45,000-reward for information locating the woman who was also pregnant when she vanished from the South Side in 2018.

Another parent spoke with WBBM Newsradio about her missing daughter and grandson, both having disappeared from Gary, Indiana six years ago this month.

La Shann Walker said her 21-year-old daughter, Diamond Bynum, is special needs and was in need of multiple daily medications when she disappeared from a family member's home on July 25, 2015.

"She has Prader-Willi Syndrome, an obesity disease which causes her to eat a lot and partial retardation," Walker said.

Walker's 2-year-old grandson, King Walker, was also at the home which belonged to his father and stepmother. The elder Walker said the father went to work and the stepmother was left with the kids.

"So, she says she fell asleep and when she woke up, they both were gone. And we haven't seen them since," Walker said.

Walker said Gary police have not responded to her case information requests in over a year. She continues to seek answers as to what happened to her daughter and grandson.

The Gary Police Department has not yet responded to a statement request from WBBM Newsradio or to a request from Walker to meet with detectives to discuss the case.
