Police in Evansville, Indiana provided an update Friday morning on the shooting Thursday night at a Walmart that ended with the gunman being shot to death by police after he shot a female employee.
Police got the first call just before 10 p.m. An employee had been shot and there was chaos in the store.
"Our officers went in and they were actively looking for him. You know, not to mention there's people inside, there are customers or employees trying to hide, trying to leave. So having to navigate, is this the offender, is this just a witness. Just watching the body cam last night, it's a very eerie feeling," Evansville Police Sgt. Anna Gray said.
Gray said the shooter, Ronald Ray Mosley II, who has a criminal background may have worked with the employee who was shot.
She was reported to have been talking when she was being taken away by ambulance.
Gray said Mosley at one point tried to leave the store.
He exchanged gunfire with multiple officers inside and outside and was ultimately shot to death.
