CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The temporary Bally's Casino in the old Medina Temple in River North opened to cheers Saturday morning.

About 200 people were in line outside the temple when the doors opened at 8 a.m. A lively bunch of ladies were yelling in excitement as they were walking in to Chicago's first ever casino.

The large group of women from the South Side said they were ready "to get that money at the new Bally's."

"Senior citizens need money too," said one of the women.

Another woman, who was waiting in line, also said she was looking forward "to come down and win some of this money."

"Hopefully, the slot machine is not as tight as out in Indiana."

However, there was no huge crowd waiting in line for hours. The guy who was first in line showed up 90 minutes before the doors opened.
