Illinois reports 7,574 new COVID-19 cases, 66 additional deaths

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- State health officials on Friday reported 7,574 new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases in Illinois, including 66 additional deaths.

Of the people who died, 26 were from Cook County and included a man in his 30s, a man in his 40s, two women and two men in their 50s, three men in their 60s, three women and three men in their 70s, four women and two men in their 80s, four women and a man in their 90s, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Cook County is the most populous county in Illinois.

The IDPH currently is reporting a total of 705,063 cases, including 12,029 deaths. On Friday, 77,130 COVID-19 tests had been administered for a total 10,289,223. On Wednesday, the total number of coronavirus tests in Illinois surpassed 10 million.

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from Nov. 20 through Nov. 26 is 10.1%.  The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity from Nov. 20 through Nov. 26 is 12.2%.
