(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Mayor Johnson spent the day with a high-ranking adviser to President Biden, discussing how the federal government can provide more financial help to Chicago.

Johnson took Senior White House Adviser Tom Perez on a walk through Englewood, from the GoGreen Community Fresh Market at Racine, along 63rd Street to the U.S. Bank Building at Halsted.

Perez said he’s impressed with development along the corridor and said the Biden Administration is interested in doing more.

“We will continue to invest. The president has talked about the critical importance of making sure that the federal government is a strong, strong partner in investments,” he said.

Perez did not take questions. Johnson said they discussed the migrant crisis, education and other issues.
