CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Almost all of Chicago's cooling centers are closed today despite another day of extreme heat.

If you're looking to cool off, you can head to the Garfield Community Service Center at Madison and Kedzie. It's the city's only designated cooling center that is open. The rest are closed in observance of Juneteenth.

The Garfield Community Service Center operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. but is available 24/7 to assist residents in finding an emergency shelter.

Some other spots around the city open for cooling off include the Chicago Cultural Center (open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at Michigan and Randolph and 106 Chicago Park District buildings, though their hours are limited.

This past week City officials had advised residents to also seek shelter from the heat at Chicago's 80 Public Libraries, but those are all closed as well.
Today will mark the fourth day of a sweltering heat wave that has resulted in heat indices at times reaching nearly 100 degrees.
