CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The village of Bridgeview has now confirmed an arrest stemming from an early January wedding party shooting that resulted in one person being shot in the leg.
A Freedom of Information Act request from WBBM Newsradio has now been returned by a law firm representing the village and shows that one man was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a firearm.
Twenty-five-year-old Mohannad Alshaikh from suburban Justice is now in the hands of the Cook County Court system.
Only a few details were given about that night by village spokesperson Ray Hanania, who first told reporters on Jan. 2 a person of interest was being questioned by police after a fight had broken out among wedding guests and shots were fired at the Paradise Banquet Hall in Bridgeview.
Multiple people had been injured including a man whose leg had been grazed by a bullet. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
