(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A 37-year-old Chicago man has been sentenced to 39 years in prison after pleading guilty to murdering a teenager who authorities said was a victim of sex trafficking.
Prosecutors say Antonio Rosales was the man who fought with 16-year-old Desiree Robinson and strangled her and cut her throat in December 2016.
Desiree had been taken to a garage in Markham. Authorities say she was dropped off by another man who trafficked her for sex; he already is serving prison time.
With Rosales’s guilty plea to murder charges, he has been sentenced to 39 years in prison.
Desiree Robinson’s mother, Yvonne Ambrose, was quoted as saying: “No amount of justice in the court system will begin to offset our loss and her loss of what I know would have been a beautiful life.”
