ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Illinois lawmakers are taking up legislation this week concerning the Bears and the proposed new stadium and development in Arlington Heights.
There are a lot of moving parts as the team looks to lower the assessed value of the property and negotiates taxes with local school districts.
One proposal from State Representative Marty Moylan, of Des Plaines, is a $3 per seat ticket tax that would be spread among local governments.
Another would term the 325-acre site a "megaproject property" and freeze reassessments for a period of time.
There could be a clearer picture of how this will all look by the end of the week.
