CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The garden in Chicago’s front yard — Lurie Garden in Millennium Park — has had a staff shakeup.
“I think we just wanted to restructure the staff — the number of staff — the roles that different people had,” Donna LaPietra, chairman of the Millennium Park Foundation Board, said Tuesday.
A new head horticulturist has been hired, and there will be a change in other staff as well, she said.
“There may be people who are wondering, well, won’t this matter in terms of how it looks?
“And all I can do is say, ‘No.’ And I would in no part want to be a part of something that would do that. And all you can really do is tell people, ‘Well, you’ll just have to wait and come and see.’”
LaPietra says Lurie Garden is open now, with a limited program of activities expected this summer.
