Morton Grove Police are warning residents about mail theft after some drive-up mailboxes were broken into.
Police said mail was recently stolen from the boxes at the U.S. Post Office on Waukegan Road.
Officials say mail theft has also been reported in Glenview, Park Ridge and Lincolnwood.
In Niles, a business reportedly mailed a check for 14 thousand dollars but said it had been altered and cashed for 214 thousand dollars.
If possible, police recommend you skip the checks and send money another way.
