
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - There was an unusual shooting Tuesday night in Bronzeville.
Chicago police said a man or young man was carrying a BB gun when he approached a man walking near 43rd and Prairie, not far from the Green Line station. It was about 11:30 p.m. when police say the victim ran away and was shot.
The victim ran away and had two puncture wounds and was taken to the hospital in good condition.
Police made no mention of an attempted robbery or other motivation for the shooting. No one is in custody.
Police statistics show a 36 percent increase in shootings in the second district compared to this time last year.
