Man barricades himself inside North Side home following late night domestic shooting: CPD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A shooting Thursday night in the Ravenswood neighborhood led to a barricade situation that lasted into the morning.

It was about 11:30 p.m. when police responded to a domestic incident in a home on the 2200 block of West Carmen Avenue.

As officers arrived, three people were coming out. Two children who were unhurt and a woman who had been shot in the jaw.

ABC-7 reported one of the children had called 9-1-1 saying his parents were fighting.

The woman was taken to Illinois Masonic and was reported to be in fair condition. The man was still in the home.

SWAT officers were called to the scene and there was a standoff that lasted for about three and a half hours.

It ended peacefully just after 3 a.m. when the man was taken into custody.
