CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are investigating an attempted robbery and shootout Sunday night inside a River North hotel.
A 53-year-old guest of The Godfrey Hotel at Huron and LaSalle told police someone knocked on his door at around 11:30 p.m., and when he opened it, a man with a gun forced his way in and demanded some of his things. The guest said the man shot at him and he returned fire. The would-be robber then took off after grazing the victim in the head.
Paramedics treated the guest at the scene and police recovered a gun. Police are still looking for the suspect and trying to determine how he got into the hotel.
