LOMBARD (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Investigators are looking into the cause of a west suburban house fire where a man was found dead inside.
The fire was early Tuesday morning. Lombard Fire Chief Ray Kickert said that when crews got to the house in the 100 block of West North Avenue there was smoke coming from the roof and eaves, with a small fire in the kitchen.
A man and a dog were found dead in the basement. Chief Kickert called the fire a devastating tragedy. The fire department estimates the fire caused $100,000 in damages.
The name of the victim has not yet been made public.
