
JOLIET, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Joliet Public Library first floor bathroom may have been the scene of a shooting Thursday.
Police said their first response was to a home in the 600 block of North Hickory in Joliet for a report of a person shot.
When they arrived, the Joliet Herald News reports they found a 33-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the groin.
After investigating, police believe the man was shot while in the first-floor bathroom of the Joliet Public Library at 150 North Ottawa Street and then walked to the Hickory Street address.
A Joliet police seargent said the victim was taken to the hospital for injuries not considered life threatening.
He also said the shooting was an isolated incident and there was no threat to the public.
