ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Police are looking for a man responsible for stabbing another man in the chest at a suburban gas station Tuesday night.
It happened in Arlington Heights-at the BP on the corner of Arlington Heights Road at Algonquin Road around 7:30 p.m. Police had been called first with a report of a man with a knife then that a man had been stabbed in the chest.
Several people took off on foot before police arrived. The victim was taken to a Level 1 trauma center in critical condition. Police said officers from Buffalo Grove, Harper College in Palatine, Rolling Meadows and Wheeling were part of the response.
Arlington Heights police said they know who their suspect is and are still looking for him and that there were multiple crime scenes.
