KENOSHA COUNTY, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Officials in Wisconsin are investigating a head-on car crash Thursday morning that killed a man and a cow.
The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department said officers responded just before 5 a.m. to 31st street and Green Bay Road in the Town of Brighton after a car hit a cow.
The sheriff's office said the driver, Michael Alayan Forero, 25 was traveling west on 31st street and approaching a small hill when he slammed into the cow, which had escaped its pasture and wandered into the middle of the road.
Both the driver and the cow died instantly. Forero was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kenosha County Medical Examiner’s Office.
"The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department’s thoughts are with those who were impacted by this tragic crash," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "We would like to remind the community to drive the posted speed limits and drive distraction-free."
