UPDATE: Motorcycle rider killed after being hit by a Waukegan ambulance

WAUKEGAN (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The motorcycle rider who was struck by a Waukegan ambulance Monday afternoon has died, according to a press release issued by the city of Waukegan.

23-year-old Donald Stallworth III of North Chicago has been identified as the motorcyclist who was hit by the ambulance at the intersection and Lake and Genesee streets. According to the city, the ambulance was in the process of transporting a patient from the 200 block of Martin Luther King Drive to Vista Medical center when the accident occurred.

Waukegan police continue to investigate.
