CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Thousands of motorcycle riders participated Sunday in what is billed by organizers as the largest motorcycle parade in the world.
Joined by festively decorated law enforcement and fire department vehicles, the 45th annual Toys for Tots motorcycle parade made its way from the Dan Ryan Woods to Lane Tech College Prep, a nearly 20-mile route along Western Avenue, taking the thousands of riders about 90 minutes to complete.
To participate riders needed to bring at least one new and unwrapped toy, non-riders were also able to donate at the start and end points. The collected toys will be given to children in need throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
