Musk to appear on ‘The Daily Show,’ but under these conditions

Elon Musk may soon be asked the hard-hitting questions, as he could be appearing on “The Daily Show,” sitting across from comedian and political commentator Jon Stewart.

The possibility of Musk’s appearance first started to gain traction when Stewart went after Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency on Monday night’s episode of “The Daily Show.”

After the monologue from Stewart, fans of Musk took to social media, specifically X, calling for the Tesla founder to appear on the show and spar with Stewart.

On Tuesday, Musk gave his answer, saying he would appear on the show, but with one caveat.

“I will do it if the show airs unedited,” Musk said in a post.

“We’d be delighted!” the official “Daily Show” X account responded to Musk on Wednesday.

During the criticism Stewart shared of DOGE on Monday, the comedian and former full-time host of the show sliced his hand open after smashing a mug on the desk.

Stewart had tallied up all the waste government dollars DOGE could save but said that instead, it has gone after the jobs of “200,000” federal employees.

“How about we just take $3 billion in subsidies we give to oil and gas companies that turn billions in profits,” Stewart said. “How long did that take? Oh, wait! How about we just close down the carried interest loophole on hedge funds? That’s $1.3 billion a year. Or how about we stop the $2 trillion we’ve given to defense contractors to build a fighter jet that blows when everyone knows the next war is going to be fought with drones and blockchains, whatever that is! Holy s***! I can’t believe it! I just saved us billions of dollars in 11 seconds!”

While Musk seemingly has agreed to go on the show, it remains to be seen if he will actually hold true to his promise.
