NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — To those who have a list of grievances against the year 2020, the City of Naperville has a solution.
The Rotary Club of Naperville Downtown is hosting its first-ever COVID Burnout.
In a video, Rotary 444 Club President Kevin McQuillen said Naperville residents can throw their frustrations into a giant bonfire.
“For $20 you will be able to submit three things that you hated or disliked the most about 2020. Those will be printed out and will be dropped into a bonfire to burn out COVID and start our way into 2021," McQuillen said.
McQuillen added that 2020 has brought a great deal of mental health issues and food insecurity.
“Therefore the money that’s donated, after expenses, is going to go to Loaves and Fishes in Naperville and NAMI of DuPage, which deals with mental health issues, to try and help people,” he said.
The bonfire bon voyage to 2020 is scheduled to take place December 27 at 5:44 p.m. in a Facebook Live broadcast.
