(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A judge has denied bail for a 16-year-old charged with murder in this week’s fatal shooting of 15-year-old in Bronzeville.

Prosecutors said suspect Anthony Brown had two gun charges as a juvenile and he was on electronic monitoring.

The most recent case was the subject of a Zoom court hearing on Tuesday. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office said Brown appeared shirtless and the judge told him to come back when he was dressed appropriately for court.

Later that same day, prosecutors said Brown hijacked a Lyft driver’s SUV and then shot Michael Brown -- no relation -- as he was walking home from school.

Anthony Brown shot the victim in the head and then fired nine more shots, hitting him in the head, shoulder and chest, prosecutors said.
