(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Getting married downtown? You can start putting together a bigger guest list.

Cook County’s downtown marriage court will no longer limit the number of guests for in-person ceremonies.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, guests for in-person marriage or civil union ceremonies at City Hall had been limited to just two people in addition to the couple. Starting Tuesday, there will be no limit on the number of individuals that can attend the ceremony.

Masks are also no longer required.

The number of ceremonies each week conducted over Zoom has been reduced from two days to just one. Zoom ceremonies will now be held only on Mondays, with in-person ceremonies performed Tuesday through Friday, from 9 a.m. until noon and from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Anyone on active military service will be scheduled on an expedited basis, officials said.
