(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Plans to reopen the hotel at Illinois Beach State Park in Zion this holiday weekend have been delayed because of supply-chain issues.

The hotel was closed at the start of the COVID pandemic more than two years ago.

Amy Trimble of ExplorUS, the company hired by the state to renovate and run the hotel, said it did not receive everything it needed to reopen, including new furniture.

“We’re just facing some of those some issues that all other businesses are dealing with,” she said.

Trimble said the hotel will now reopen Tuesday.
