(WBBM NEWSR) — A plea deal for a former Chicago Public Schools dean fell apart yesterday in court over one condition in the sexual abuse case.
Brian Crowder and his attorney told Judge Mary Anna Planey they thought he would only have to register as a sex offender for ten years but prosecutors said it would be for life.
The former dean of students at Greater Lawndale High School had already pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated sex abuse at that point but withdrew it and asked for a continuance.
Prosecutors say the now 41-year-old abused a former student when she was 15 to 17 years old. Crowder allegedly posed as the girl's stepfather when he took her to get two abortions after she got pregnant.
He is due back in court in two months.
