Construction crews tried to wave off the man but he kept going until he got stuck.

The man was standing near the bridge when Metra officers Will Wright and Andrea Clunie arrived.

When they told him to put his hands behind his back, Metra said he began crying and apologizing and tried to jump over the bridge railing.

The officers grabbed him, put him into custody and took him to Ingalls Hospital for evaluation.
