Police searching for suspect in deadly hit-and-run in Chatham

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago police are asking for the public's help in finding the driver of an SUV involved in a deadly hit-and-run Monday night in the Chatham neighborhood.

The incident happened at about 9:30 p.m. at 79th and King Drive.

Police said the Chevy Tahoe hit a 59-year-old Bolingbrook man and sped North on King Drive.

The man, identified as Eric Ray was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The Tahoe is described as tan, with a sunroof, tinted windows, and black rims.

There is damage to the front driver-side bumper, grill, and hood. Anyone with information or who spots the SUV is asked to contact police.
