CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago has long had a checkered history with mail delivery and the U.S. Postmaster General met with local postal officials on Thursday to discuss service improvements.
People have been complaining for years about missing mail and mail undelivered for weeks at a time in the Chicago area and U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy was in Chicago on Thursday to push the postal service’s 10 year plan.
It’s already more than a year old. Part of it includes delivering mail and packages to every American household and business six and seven days a week in a reliable and affordable manner. DeJoy expresses confidence in the local postal service leadership.
“We have a strong local team in place, and we are fully committed to being the best delivery provider for all our customers’ mailing and shipping needs," she said.
