(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Friday marked one year since workers at a Starbucks in Buffalo, New York voted to become the first in the nation to unionize.

In Chicago, Starbucks workers rallied in Federal Plaza to amplify their claims that the coffee chain continues to fire unionizing workers, close unionizing stores and refuses to bargain a fair contract.

Starbucks spokesperson Andrew Trull tells WBBM Newsradio the company has been coming to the table to bargain in good faith.

Starbucks Workers United now represents around 7,000 workers at more than 265 stores across the country.
