Responding state trooper, IDOT worker hurt in Dan Ryan crash: ISP

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Illinois State Police trooper was struck while responding to a crash on Chicago’s South Side Monday morning.

An ISP trooper and IDOT truck were called to a crash in the outbound lanes of the Dan Ryan, near 63rd Street. It happened just before 3 a.m. Both vehicles had their emergency lights on while blocking the two left lanes when they were hit by a passing vehicle.

The trooper and the driver of the car that struck them were both taken to nearby hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the IDOT truck also had minor injuries.
