
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Illinois Department of Public Health is recommending residents stay at home as much as possible from now through Thanksgiving and into December.
The request comes as Illinois announces its highest daily death toll since May: 145 people. The state’s daily count of confirmed coronavirus cases hit an all-time high — 12,657.
State health authorities say it’s important that people take extra safeguards.
“For the next three weeks, work with your employer to plan to work from home unless it is necessary for you to be in the workplace,” they said in a news release.
“For the next three weeks, stay at home as much as possible, leaving only for necessary and essential activities.”
