CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Four people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash involving a stolen vehicle and a St. Sabina children's choir bus on the South Side, Chicago police said.

It happened Saturday morning near 79th Street and Vincennes Avenue. Police said a driver of a Dodge Durango was traveling south on Vincennes Avenue when they ran a red light and crashed into a westbound Ford van. The Dodge then struck the St. Sabina bus.

After the crash, four men — armed with handguns — got out of the Dodge and fled the scene of the crash. Officials said they ran southbound into a nearby alley.

Four adults, who were riding on the children's choir bus, were taken to St. Bernard Hospital in good condition. No other injuries were reported.

Police later discovered that the Dodge Durango was reported stolen outside of Chicago.

The children's choir had just finished performing on the steps of St. Sabina to kick off a day of service.

On Sunday, St. Sabina parishioners celebrated that no one was seriously injured. St. Sabina’s Fr. Michael Pfleger took to Facebook following the crash. He wrote that the four men who ran “better keep running.”

No one is in custody, and CPD detectives are investigating.
