(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A man was shot Tuesday in suburban Matteson while trying to sell a car during an online meetup.
The 41-year-old met a female and male about 5 p.m. in nearby Country Club Hills after arranging online to meet there to sell them a 2013 Dodge Charger, Matteson police said.
The three got into the car for a test drive, police said. While driving along Central Avenue near Vollmer Road, the male shot the man twice and told him to get out of the car, police said. As the man stepped out, the male shot him again before driving off.
The man was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to police.
The Charger is dark gray and has a large dent on its left side and black spray-painted rims. It has Missouri dealer plates W468-AN.
Police said the incident is being investigated as an isolated occurrence.
