(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Southwest Side man is accused of soliciting an undercover officer he thought was a teenage girl.
The Cook County Sheriff's office said 34-year-old Juan Heredia was arrested Wednesday and is charged with several felonies, including attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Heredia allegedly made contact a week ago with someone he thought was a 15-year-old girl and continued to text and send sexually explicit messages.
He arranged to meet the teen for sex this week, authorities said.
The sheriff's office says the person he arranged to meet was actually an undercover officer.
Heredia's bail was set at $50,000.
