(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – The Sweets and Snacks Expo is back in Chicago for the 26th year before it relocates to Indiana.

Spokesperson Carly Childhaus said around 17,000 people are expected to be at the expo to explore what's new in the candy and snack industries. Originally, the show was focused on candy – a natural for Chicago.

"Chicago for a long time has been the candy capital of the world. There are so many brands that got their start in Chicago, brands that are currently based in Chicago, so it's a very special place for the confectionary industry as well as the snack industry,” Childhaus said.

This year's expo is a little bittersweet, as it will be Chicago's last year hosting before the show moves to a bigger space in Indianapolis next year.
