(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Two Aurora teenagers have been accused of leading Villa Park police on a high-speed chase on Tuesday.

According to a press release from the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, the chase took place after a Honda CRV that was reportedly stolen from Naperville earlier this week was spotted traveling east on Roosevelt Road.

The officer attempted to pull over the vehicle, but authorities said the driver sped away and, at times, reached speeds of more than 100 mph.

The chase ended up on Interstate 88 and then the Eisenhower Expressway until the driver exited the expressway at 25th Street in Westchester. Police said the two teens took off but were apprehended in a barbershop about a quarter-mile from where they allegedly left the vehicle.

Police recovered a loaded handgun nearby.

The suspects are two boys, ages 15 and 17. The state’s attorney’s office said they’re being held until their next court date, which is on March 30.
