ARLINGTON HEIGHTS (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Trespassing has been a growing issue since the Bears bought the former Arlington Park racetrack.
Arlington Heights Police logged 18 calls of trespassing, suspicious persons and even burglary in the last six months.
Officials said the uptick is fueled by social media, including a recent trend where people are challenged to take a photo in an abandoned property.
The Daily Herald reported most offenders got away before police arrived, but at least two people have been arrested, one on burglary charges, the other for trespassing.
The Bears' security division said it wants a "zero-tolerance approach regarding incidents at the property."
