CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -Police have classified an attack on two Jewish students at DePaul University as a hate crime.

Police said one of the men who punched a Jewish student and pushed another to the ground made antisemitic comments first.

This happened outside DePaul’s student center on the Lincoln Park campus Wednesday afternoon. The 21 and 27-year-olds refused medical treatment

Police have released pictures and descriptions of the suspects, who they estimate are about 20-years-old.

One is wearing a balaclava with a white t-shirt and tan pants. The other has a full beard and short dark hair with shaved sides. He was wearing a black t-shirt and black pants.

The Chicago Jewish Alliance said the students were standing outside the center to talk with others about the war in Gaza before they were attacked.  The head of the ADL Midwest called it premeditated and points out it comes on the heels of an orthodox man being shot on the way to synagogue in Rogers Park.
