CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The founder and CEO of Chicago’s Urban Prep Academies says he’ll fight to clear his name after accusations of sexual misconduct with a student.
The CPS inspector general initiated an investigation regarding an alleged inappropriate relationship between Tim King and a 16-year-old girl in April of last year. A letter recently sent to parents does not name King but said the allegations were substantiated.
The district fired King. He appealed and lost and has since resigned. King calls the allegations false and said he’ll fight to clear his name.
He was once named “Hero of the Year” by People Magazine and Urban Prep has for years been considered a success story. It’s known for sending all graduating seniors to colleges or universities.
