$5 million bond set for man accused of breaking into 92-year-old woman’s home and assaulting her

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A $5 million bond has been set for a west suburban man accused in a home invasion and attack against a 92-year old woman.

The attack happened last month in Addison.

The DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office alleged that when the 92-year-old woman had returned home from a dialysis appointment, a man pushed his way into her home.

Officials alleged 53-year-old Anthony Lane of Glendale Heights then bound the woman’s hands with duct tape and carried her upstairs and sexually assaulted her.

Prosecutors said the victim was later able to call 911 and Addison police arrested Lane last Thursday.

State’s Attorney Robert Berlin called the attack “extraordinarily disturbing” and said, if convicted, Lane could receive a sentence of up to 120 years in prison.
