Carly Katz, owner of Bottles and Cans, told the WBBM Noon Business Hour that she prefers to toast the new year with a traditional bottle of bubbly. She explained that many others feel the same way, although they don't have to worry about the price tag.
"You can go as far up as doing like a true champagne. You can hit those $100 bottles if you want; that is completely people's prerogative, but you can also bring it in with something a little less expensive and do a Prosecco or a Cava. You're still getting that celebratory bubble, but you're not having to go to that extra price point," Katz said.
Katz explained that going to one of the locations of Bottles and Cans in North Center and Edgebrook will help celebrators find the right price range and taste profile fit for you.
When it comes to cocktails, Katz said that punch recipes are in this year. She recommends getting out your crystal punch bowl out for twists on run punch and many other concoctions.
