(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Still plenty of summer left in Chicago – and plenty of activities to enjoy across the region. WBBM Newsradio’s Rachel Pierson has a roundup of things to do this weekend.

--What better way to spend a weekend in Chicago than with country music, barbecue, and craft beer? Windy City Smokeout returns to the United Center parking lot, bringing together the best pit masters and musicians for your enjoyment. This year’s headliners include Zach Bryan, Darius Rucker, Luke Bryan and Zac Brown Band.

--You'll find everything from paintings and ceramics to photography and furniture at the Millennium Art Festival. More than 140 artists will display their works during the three-day event along Lake Street in the Loop.

--Back by popular demand, Sundays on State kicks off this weekend for one of only two summer dates. The free block party shuts down State Street from Adams to Lake for food, drinks, shopping and live entertainment.

--Experience the magic of the Water Lantern Festival at Lincoln Park South Lagoon. You’ll find food trucks, fun music and an incredible sight as thousands of floating lanterns reflect messages of love, hope, and happiness.

--Check out Fox Valley's top-rated summer event. The Kane County Fair features 4-H animals, a carnival and grandstand shows, including professional championship bull riders and cowgirls.

--Connect with Mother Nature at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle. The new ‘Of the Earth’ exhibition features five large-scale sculptures that give natural materials a new life.

--And your kids will be 'bubbling' with excitement at Wonder Works Children's Museum in Oak Park. The two-day outdoor Bubble Works festival celebrates the magic and science of bubbles in all shapes and sizes.
