CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Two Dolton police officers are in serious condition and a woman is dead following a confrontation that started at a restaurant drive-thru early Tuesday morning.

It started at about 1 a.m. at Baba's Famous Steak and Lemonade on Sibley Boulevard in Dolton. Village spokesman Sean Howard said a woman with a gun was irate at the drive-thru because it was closed and police were called.

"An officer attempted to remove her from the vehicle and that's when she put the car in drive, dragging him through the parking lot. His fellow officer noticed that he was in distress and that he was in fear of the safety of his life. That particular officer discharged his weapon three times. Yet and still the female driver drove that particular officer over with the vehicle," Howard told WBBM Newsradio.

He said she continued on with three bullet wounds and the officers still holding on and crashed into a bike shop a block away. She was dead at the scene. Both officers were seriously injured.
