(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – First responders in west suburban Geneva pulled a woman from the Fox River after she reportedly jumped into the waterway Monday.
The Geneva Fire Department and police officers were dispatched for a river rescue around noon, officials said. A witness reported that a person had jumped into the river near the western edge of the city’s dam.
Three rescue boats and one dive team were deployed, and the woman was retrieved from the water near the Kane County Government Center, officials said. After performing life-saving measures, the woman was transported to an area hospital, officials said in a news release.
No further information was available.
First responders from St. Charles and Batavia assisted in the rescue.
