CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police say charges are pending against a man who was shot while allegedly breaking into a business Sunday night.

It happened late Sunday night in the Lincoln Square neighborhood. Police said they found a wounded 18-year old man in an alley behind the 2600 block of West Lawrence.


Turns out, police said, the man was shot while allegedly breaking into a closed business.

The 40-year old man who allegedly did the shooting is said to have heard some noise coming from the back door shortly before midnight, and that's where he found the suspect trying to get in.

The 18-year old was shot in a leg and taken for treatment at Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
